What's your power source?

Electricity is a phenomenal thing that we get to experience daily. As phenomenal as it is, we tend to overlook its complexity until a particular situation occurs that forces us to focus our attention on its importance. If you were to walk into a room and turn the light switch to the "on" position you would continue to walk into the room, likely aimed at completing the next task at hand, unless the light doesn't come on. If the light doesn't come on, you have to stop and consider what is keeping the light from being powered on. This is the beginning of a process that will lead us to a desired outcome; the light being restored. If we take this same concept and replace electricity with passion, we can better understand the significance of an unpassionate soul. It's often said that we were all created for a purpose, which is true! We all have been given an opportunity to make an impact in this beautiful world that we live in. How, then, do we position ourselves to understand what our individual purpose is and how to use it to make an impact on those around us? We live in a highly electrical world where one now has the option to let a device vacuum the floor. With this being the case, we have also been introduced to the common process of troubleshooting. When something goes wrong with our devices, we naturally begin a process of fixing the issue on our own because we're either too busy to let a professional do it or we just don't want the hassle of going out of the way for an unplanned issue. Either way, we find ourselves on a mission to fix what is wrong. So should we be when there is nothing powering us to improve on a consistent basis.

Passion is fuel to the individual that has a plan; a goal; a desired outcome to fulfill. It's what allows a person to strive for greatness, even if their current surroundings are the total opposite. Passion keeps one moving forward instead of backwards knowing that we can't change our past, but being grateful that we can change directions for the better. Just as we see the benefits of electricity; we should also see, and keep in mind, the danger of it. Likewise, passion needs discipline and control in order to be beneficial to the individual and those that are impacted by the individual. This is when a person must seek help from a source that is able to give the right amount of power and guidance to achieve the optimal development. John 16:13 says, "When the Holy Spirit, who is truth, comes, he shall guide you into all truth, for he will not be presenting his own ideas, but will be passing on to you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future." (TLB) There is a source that can help us to get an understanding about all things; past, present, and future. The Holy Spirit is the ONLY power that will ever be able to show us what our true purpose is and also the ONLY source that can truthfully direct us properly in our passions. When we put our trust in God and combine that faith with our work ethic, we will find that we can no longer stay the same. We will be passionately motivated to pursue the purpose that we were created to fulfill. If you want to change your mindset regarding the future, seek God and He will direct you in all of your ways. Jeremiah 29:13 says, "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." (KJV)
